Korean Mindwarps III: Shin Jung Hyun & the Yup Juns

EN-D recently stumbled upon this Shin Jung Hyun and the Yup Juns' trio of albums. Maybe you remember Shin Jung Hyun from KMW#1? Well, apparently he started jamming with these Yup Jun dudes in the early 70's. They run the gambit from psych to nasty funk, all in a pretty stylish way. Wah-pedals galore, the occasional flute, and plenty of spacious organs. There's a song saluting the Korean flag. How many rockstars sing songs about their native flags? But Jung Hyun's on a roll and really can't be stopped by western rock conventions. No clues as to what's happening on the cover. A medal ceremony, or did they just want to show off their swank new suits in a grand setting? Whatever the case, SJH and the Yup Juns has been filling EN-D's apartment with their heavy jams.

RIYL: Jimi Hendrix, King Crimson, T-Rex
